I am taken aback by the outcome of the most talked-about late-season American football games: the NFC East and the NFC West games.

I realize that nothing in life is guaranteed except for football injuries, beautiful football cheerleaders, Super Bowls, and sports bloggers like me, Wil Ford. Until now, both the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys were the last unbeaten teams in the NFC… until this past weekend.

Philadelphia Eagles defeats New York Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New York Giants at Giants Stadium. Good grief!

Although I’m a native New Yorker, I must acknowledge the outstanding performance of the Eagles. I applaud the team members’ taking the lead in their division. What a game! They are now the most winningest team at Giants Stadium.

DeSean Jackson is a unique wide receiver for whom I greatly respect after his suffering a concussion during the game against the Washington Redskins.

Donovan McNabb, one of the Eagles’ quarterback of all times, threw perfect touchdown passes to both Jackson and tight end Brent Celek. I was so impressed by the Eagles’ performance that I actually forgotten I’m a Giants fan.

San Diego Chargers trumps Dallas Cowboys

I was also stunned by the Dallas Cowboys’ lost to the San Diego Chargers. The Cowboys, the winningest team in the NFC, is one of a few teams for which I support. Yes, I am also a Dallas Cowboys fan: I’m a former resident of Dallas, Texas.

I am glad that a local Dallas hospital released DeMarcus Ware, who suffered a strained neck during the game. I hope that owner and general manager Jerry Jones sits the 27-year-old offensive linebacker out for a while. He needs the rest. Geez! The guy has already sustained two previous injuries this year: he fractured his wrist and has a stress fracture in his foot.

Although I did not watch the game between Dallas and San Diego, I could imagine the sight Ware’s head colliding with Chargers guard Brandyn Dombrowski‘s left hip. It’s a miracle Ware wasn’t paralyzed. The man is earning $13 million a year and is one of the best players and “quarterback sackers” in the league. Jerry Jones better take care of the Cowboys’ investment and ensure “the quarterback sack attack” has rested enough to play soon.

American football is truly the sports filled with titans.
